Building Codes Update Notice
Please be advised that the adoption of the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code will go into effect on January 1, 2023. These codes consist of the 2021 International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Existing Building Code, International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fuel Gas Code, and the 2020 edition of the National Electrical Code. Amendments to these codes can be found at lsuccc.dps.louisiana.gov.
Along with the adoption of the new state codes on January 1st, St Tammany Parish Department of Permits & Inspections will require an engineered exterior envelope framing plan for all new one and two-family dwellings, additions greater than 500 square feet and accessory buildings over 1000 square feet. The framing plans shall be prepared and stamped by a Louisiana-licensed design professional.
