MESSAGE FROM THE PARISH PRESIDENT, NOVEMBER 3, 2021

Good Afternoon,

I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful fall weather we received as you celebrated a safe Halloween weekend. 

As the end of the year approaches, we pause to reflect on opportunities and decisions made over the previous twelve months and look toward next year.

This year, we made tremendous strides in improving our community, especially with the opening of the Crisis Receiving Center at the Safe Haven campus and various infrastructure improvements, such as the I-10 Service Road project in Slidell and the Brewster Road enhancements.

Our commitment to improve the quality of life for St. Tammany citizens remains steadfast as we plan for 2022.

This week, Parish departmental Directors will join some of our local legislative delegates on a tour throughout our Parish to see a few of our high priority capital outlay projects we have planned.

We believe it will be beneficial for our legislators to see what they will be advocating for in the next legislative cycle. The projects are intended to improve our Facilities, Environmental Services, Engineering, Utilities, Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and Health and Human Services departments, among others.

During the tour in East St. Tammany, we will visit proposed water and sewage projects; the fishing pier, which was devastated by Hurricane Ida; Camp Salmen; and many others.  In the West, we will visit the proposed Mandeville Bypass road, the Parish Fairgrounds and the Safe Haven Campus.

By working with our local, state and federal partners, we will be able to achieve so much more.
