PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE AND CERTIFICATION
TO HOLD VIDEO CONFERENCE MEETING
In accordance with Executive Proclamations JBE 2020-30, 2020-33, 2020-41, and 2020-52 issued by Governor John Bel Edwards onMarch 16, 2020,March 22, 2020, April 2, 2020, and April 30, 2020, and extended toMay 15, 2020, respectively, this notice shall serve as a certification of the St. Tammany Parish Council’s inability to otherwise operate in accordance with the Louisiana OpenMeetings Law due to a lack of a quorum as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency. Pursuant to Section 4 of JBE 2020-30, the St. Tammany Parish Council will provide for attendance at its essential government meeting on May 7, 2020, via video conference because it is unable to obtain a quorum (8 of 14 members).
In addition, under Section 2 of JBE 2020-33 Governor Edwards ordered all public gatherings of ten (10) ormore people to be suspended or postponed. The St. Tammany Parish Council is composed of fourteen (14) members. Furthermore, in accordance with Section 2A of JBE 2020-41, and 2020-52 all individuals in Louisiana are under a general stay-at-home order. It is essential for the St. Tammany Parish Council to meet according to the St. Tammany Parish Home Rule Charter Section 2-07.Considering the foregoing, and in accordance with Proclamation Numbers JBE 2020-30, JBE 2020-33, 2020-41, and 2020-52, the St. Tammany Parish Council will hear the agenda for the regularly scheduled May meeting on Thursday, May 7,2020, at 6 P.M. via video conference and in a manner that allows for observation and input by members of the public, as set forth below and as posted on May 4, 2020.
The St. Tammany Parish Council will utilize the online platform Zoom to livestream the meeting. The livestream will be available for viewing on regular broadcast channels (Charter Channel 710; U-verse Channel 99) or on the Parish website: www.stpgov.org beginning at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2020.
